SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
Perhaps it’s time we all started to pray like the tax collector (in Luke 18). Perhaps it’s time for us all to have a little more humility. Offering no excuses. Taking responsibility for our own actions – or, inability or unwillingness to take action. Asking mercy and compassion in at least equal measure to the mercy and compassion we offer to others. God, have mercy on us, for we are a nation of sinners – who are loved and justified by a God of Love and compassion. It’s time we started acting like it. (Elizabeth Kaeton)

THANK YOU to all those who chose to support Operation Christmas Child with a shoebox!! We collected 27 boxes this year.
FYI: Albion Fellows Bacon Center is one of the organizations supported by Patoka UMC through Missions giving. Albion Fellows would also benefit from your old, unwanted cell phones, which would be reprogrammed for 911 calls to assist victims of domestic abuse and other emergency situations. Patoka UMC now has a basket in the entryway specifically for discarded cell phones, along with our other collections. If you have the chargers for your old phones they would be appreciated as well, but are not required.
MEN’S BREAKFAST: Due to the holidays there will be no Men’s Breakfast in November or December. We do invite you to join us again after the first of the year. All men, all ages are welcome on the last Saturday of each month. We encourage you to invite friends as well. There’s always plenty of room, great food, and good fellowship. So plan to join us in January!
ADVENT COIN BOXES AND DEVOTIONALS are now available. Please remember to pick one up on your way out this morning. Coin boxes will be collected on White Gift Sunday – December 18th. White Gift Fund – The “General Budget” account was designated as where this year’s White Gift funds would be applied. We have applied a lot of funds to the building fund over the past year and while we will be buying the Frazier house, we need at the present time to build up the general fund. Please recognize that this is important at the present time.
BIBLE STUDY BREAK: With Thanksgiving and Christmas upon us, and schedules already being overloaded, we will be taking a break from Tuesday night Bible Study until after the holidays. Please watch announcements for plans to resume in January.
THANKSGIVING DINNER OUTREACH: Grace & Albert Luttrell, their family, and volunteers will offer a traditional Thanksgiving meal as a community outreach this Thanksgiving Day, November 24th, from noon-2:00pm at the Patoka United Methodist Church Family Life Center. They will cook, serve, and deliver food for anyone who needs a hot meal. If you (or someone you know) can’t prepare a meal, are alone this year, or can’t get out of your home, they would like to help you enjoy a home cooked Thanksgiving dinner. If you (or someone you know) would like to come enjoy dinner, or require a meal delivered, please call 812-664-0981 right away. Volunteers are still needed and welcomed. If you’d like to lend a hand, or donate to help offset the cost of this outreach, please call 812-664-0981 for more information. If you plan to attend the dinner, or need to sign up for delivery, please speak with Grace or Albert right away.
DIRECTORY BOOK DEADLINE – NEXT SUNDAY: We need ALL changes to the current church directory book turned in no later than Sunday, November 27th to ensure that your family’s information is correct in the 2017 book. Thank you! Melissa

Bring a pot of soup and/or sandwiches and join us in the FLC for a bite to eat afterwards. The more the merrier!
