MEETING CHANGES: The Missions and Nurture Committees will no longer meet every other month, but will have ‘as needed” called meetings and communication among committee members when needs or events arise. JUST A REMINDER: The refrigerator (soft drinks) is a great convenience for many. The proceeds go to our youth. Lately we have stocked the frig a lot but have not had funds equal to the soda that has been sold. Please be sure to pay as you buy or we may need to discontinue this service that so many like.
SOULFEST 2017 – Oakland City University’s Annual Contemporary Music Festival – will be held this Saturday, April 1st at 6:00pm in Johnson Center on the campus of OCU [138 N. Lucretia Street]. Artists include Adelaide music, Cochren & Company, The Great Command, Stars Go Dim, and OCU’s Earthlight. Doors open at 5:00pm. Concessions will be available. PANTRY SUNDAY: Next Sunday, April 2nd is Pantry Sunday… each Communion Sunday [1st Sunday of the month] we ask that you bring canned goods and non-perishable items [especially canned meats and/or box dinners] with you to place in the collection container near the front doors for the Patoka Food Pantry. We are fed by Jesus Christ on Communion Sunday, therefore we need to feed others. A great number of families have been served recently through the Patoka Food Pantry and the shelves need restocking. [Items which always come in handy – and cannot be purchased with food stamps – soap, shampoo, laundry detergent, dish soap, deodorant, paper towels, toilet paper, toothpaste]
AUCTION: Patoka UMC’s annual dinner & auction is Saturday, April 8th, with dinner at 4:30pm and live auction at 5:30pm.
$7/adults; $4/kids 10 & under
Dinner – homemade soups, sandwiches, chips, dessert & drink
Auction – handmade crafts, homemade baked goods, jelly, relish, candy, quilted items, gift certificates, gift baskets, sports items and more!! If you have homemade or quilted items, furniture, antiques, any items listed above, or newly purchased items that you might donate please leave them in the old nursery room in the church basement.

EGG HUNT DONATIONS ARE STILL GREATLYL NEEDED for the children’s Easter Egg Hunt on Palm Sunday, April 9th following Sunday School. Very small, individually wrapped candies, stickers & toys, and LARGE Easter eggs are needed by Thursday, April 6th in the COLLECTION BOX IN THE FAMILY LIFE CENTER WESLEY ROOM. Volunteers are needed Friday, April 7th at 9:00am (Wesley Room) to fill eggs.

EASTER SONRISE SERVICE will begin at 6:30am on April 16th, followed by BREAKFAST in the Family Life Center, prepared by the men. Regular worship is at 9:15am.
LENTEN COIN BOXES are in the basket near the foyer table for you to take home and fill as you feel led during the Lenten Season. This year’s Lenten Offering will go to the Building Fund to be used for renovations and projects on the Frazier house. Please prayerfully consider your Lenten gift as it goes toward your future parsonage. Coin boxes will be collected on Easter Sunday, April 16th.
NEW MEMBER CLASS: If anyone wishes to join the Patoka United Methodist Church as a member, please contact me (Pastor Jeff) and we will schedule classes. Please realize that I do not “recruit” for this, you must request.
CONFIRMATION CLASS: We have at least one youth that desires to go through Confirmation Classes to join the church. In the United Methodist Church, young adults from approximately 6th grade onward take “membership” classes and confirm their baptism and declare their acceptance of Jesus as their Lord and Savior and join the church. If you desire to join the class, please let me know (Pastor Jeff) and we will schedule the classes for everyone’s convenience. Please realize that I do not “recruit” for this, you must request.
