Bulletin – 8-20-17

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT – “People pay attention when they see that God actually changes persons and sets them free. When a new Christian stands up and tells how God has revolutionized his or her life, no one dozes off. When someone is healed or released from a life-controlling bondage, everyone takes notice.” – Jim Cymbala

UMYH CASH FOR CLASS: Each year United Methodist Youth Home has the honor & responsibility to help send their kids back to school with the uniforms & supplies they need. Education is one of the keys to breaking the cycles that bring kids to UMYH. If you would like to help, you can do so by supporting UMYH’s Cash for Class program with monetary gifts of varying levels, from $50.00-$354.00. For more info or a donation form, see Melissa in the church office.

PRAYER SPONSORS: If you have been (or have never been) and would like to be a prayer sponsor for one of our youth thru the school year, please notify Darla Meyer Smith or Lisa Meyer. All it requires is doing just what it sounds like… pray regularly for the youth whose name you will be given, and if you choose to, remember them with cards and notes and small gifts on special occasions or “just because” to encourage and uplift them. We will not assume that because you were a prayer sponsor this past school year that you automatically wish to be one this school year. So, please let Darla or Lisa know right away.

COLLEGE ADDRESSES: We would like to stay in touch with our college students, so we’re asking for new and updated addresses as soon as they are available. If you’d like to include phone #’s, emails, birthdays, etc. that would be fantastic! When all addresses are turned in we will post a permanent list on the bulletin board. Please turn in college addresses to Melissa in the church office.
